Why does it matter?

We can no longer be silent spectators as every fabric of our life is hijacked and misused against us.

Staring into emptiness

Why bother to provoke thought, enlighten, and provide original thought and analysis without favor or influence.

Nihilism: “nihilist positions hold variously that human values are baseless, that life is meaningless, that knowledge is impossible, or that some set of entities do not exist or are meaningless or pointless”, and “term is sometimes used in association with anomie to explain the general mood of despair at a perceived pointlessness of existence”.

We all need to be well informed, aware and conscious of the forces at work dividing us and distracting us. The macro-economic forces affect our neighbors, the community, and the world we live in. It affects our economic, social, and physical health.

"Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate" - Carl Jung

There are unbelievably huge rewards in keeping people distracted, mis-informed, dis-informed, not-informed, divided, insular, selfish, and engaged in trivial pursuits which leads them nowhere. The proverb 'A fool and his money are soon parted' is apt for our times.

"The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country": Edward Bernays(The Father of Spin), Propaganda (1928).

People don't need help being distracted, mis-informed, divided, insular, selfish, and engaged in trivial pursuits. They do that very well on their own. However, now there are manipulators who benefit from it at a global scale.

It is not enough to be well informed, aware and conscious yourself. We all must share our knowledge and perspective with others.

An analogy can be found in any disease which affects our health. It is not enough that you and your family are healthy. It is common sense to ensure your neighbors, friends, and community are also safe. Mis-information, dis-information, and no information, are no different from a disease. They have the same negative affect on everyones economic, social, and physical health.

"There is no true life within a false life" has become a popular slogan. What does that statement refer to? This aphorism from Minima Moralia refers to the impossibility of setting up private happiness amid a society's catastrophic developments. Modern societies have a tendency to impact every sphere of a life.

We can no longer be silent spectators as every fabric of our life is hijacked and misused against us.

"We will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends", and "There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must do it because Conscience tells him it is right." - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

We are in this together. You can believe you don't need me, and you may not need me. I definitely need you.

Be a well informed, aware, and conscious person, and also ensure that you spread your wisdom around you. I need that from you, and I offer you the same.

That is what we aim to do, and it matters.

"The hardest thing to explain is the glaringly evident which everybody had decided not to see" - Ayn Rand.

"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter" - MLK.
